Cars are obviously a big part of Grand Theft Auto 5. Whether you’re taking part in a GTA online race against other players. Or you’re just trying to get from A to B in a mission, having the GTA 5 fastest car can help save you some time.
And of course, win races and embarrass other players. We’ll be taking a look at the GTA 5 fastest car in this post, based both on lap times and top speed. We’ll also take a look at the other fast cars and see what their drawbacks are so that you can decide for yourself what might be the best car for your GTA 5 character.
Bored of the standard game. Here is how to set up RP Servers in GTA 5.
Fastest Car In GTA 5: Based On Top Speed
We’ll start with the fastest car based on its top speed because of course, why not? If you’re drag racing with your friends in GTA online, these are the cars that you should be using:
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #10: Pegassi Toros (127.50mph)
We start with the Pegassi Toros, which actually stands toe-to-toe with the next car on the list. The gearhead enthusiast will have noticed that the Pegassi Toros is based on the real-life Lamborghini Urus. Much like its real-life counterpart, the Toros has massive power amounts of power. It boasts a top speed of 127.50mph, making it the fastest SUV in GTA 5 at the time of writing this article.
However, the Pegassi Toros is known to have lackluster traction and braking. Additionally, the Toros tends to bounce excessively over bumps, so watch out for uneven terrain if you’re using this car. That being said, if you’re still interested in the Toros, then you will need to give Legendary Motorsport $498,000 of your GTA online cash to have the Toros in your garage.
A recommended upgrade for the Toros is the Front Bumper modification. Upgrading the Front Bumper will affect its traction, making it handle better. While the Spoiler modification will make the Toros look much cooler, it won’t improve the traction or handling in any way.
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #9: Grotti X80 Proto (127.50mph)
View this post on Instagram
Every car on the list from now on will either be in the Sport or Super class. So if you want a fast SUV, the Pegassi Toros is for you. But if you’re looking for a supercar and you want an outrageous-looking vehicle for your GTA online character, the Grotti X80 is for you.
The Grotti X80 Proto was added in June 2016 as part of the Further Adventures in Finance and Felony update. It bears resemblance to the Ferrari F80 concept car, and it looks as menacing as a car can get. Of course, a car that looks like a Ferrari doesn’t come cheap. You can buy the X80 Proto from Legendary Motorsport, but it will set you back a hefty $2,700,000. Better get working on those heists if you find the X80 Proto desirable.
Of course, there’s a lot of performance that comes with that outrageous price tag. It has the same top speed as the Pegassi Toros at 127.50mph. But unlike the Toros, the X80 Proto has excellent traction and handling performance. This is partly thanks to its all-wheel drive layout, and partly thanks to the separate rear flaps that can lift individually to increase grip.
A notable downside of the X80 Proto is its vulnerability. The slightest contact can damage the car and the tires are vulnerable as well. It’s probably not the best getaway car for a bank job. Still, the outrageous concept car look means it’s the perfect car to show off to your GTA online friends.
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #8: Grotti Itali GTO (127.75mph)
Inspired by the real-life Ferrari 812, the Grotti Itali GTO is one of my favorite cars in GTA 5 in terms of looks. Although I don’t really have the cash yet to buy one because I’ve blown it all on a fancy apartment. I really should get working on those heists. Anyway, the Itali GTO might not have the outrageous batmobile-like look of the X80 Proto, but it does have a higher top speed of 127.75mph.
While that’s not a lot of difference, the price difference might change your mind. You will only need $1,965,000 to purchase the Itali GTO from Legendary Motorsport. That’s almost an $800,000 difference from the X80 Proto.
That being said, the cheaper price comes at a different cost: the handling. The Itali GTO’s handling was updated after The Diamond Casino & Resort update, making the car less twitchy and less bouncy over bumps. However, the car is still slightly twitchy at times, but it is far more controllable than before.
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #7: Overflod Entity XXR (128mph)
View this post on Instagram
If you’re a fan of Koenigsegg, then you’re going to love the Overflod Entity XXR. The clean but exotic design, the cockpit-like design of the C-shaped arrangement for the windscreen, side windows, and roof. And of course, the glorious swan-neck spoiler. This thing is a beauty to behold.
Of course, with a top speed of 128mph and a beautiful body, the Entity XXR doesn’t come cheap. You will need to give Legendary Motorsport $2,305,000 of your – likely illegally earned – cash to have the Entity XXR delivered to your garage. And for that, not only do you get an impressive top speed, you also get great traction and handling.
The one aspect the Entity XXR is not great at is probably the acceleration. Despite being more expensive, the Entity XXR accelerates slightly slower than the much cheaper Entity XF. That being said, the sheer top speed and great handling are enough to justify the purchase.
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #6: Invetero Coquette D10 (130mph)
The Invetero Coquette D10 is based on the real-life Corvette C8. Although arguably the Coquette D10 is better looking with its aggressive front body kit and spoilers. The name just makes me hungry though, Coquette sounds a lot like Croquette.
Hunger-inducing name aside, the Coquette D10 is a very desirable car. It boasts a top speed of 130mph and great handling, and it’s one of the better supercars in the game when it comes to taking damage. Additionally, players have praised the Coquette D10 for its drifting ability, making it a versatile and controllable vehicle.
However, it does have quite a hefty price tag. Unlike its real-life counterpart (which costs around $70,000, relatively cheap for a mid-engine supercar), the Coquette D10 will cost you an eye-watering $1,510,000 to purchase. Still, it’s a great-looking supercar with even greater performance. Definitely worth a visit to Legendary Motorsport if you’re interested.
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #5: Bravado Banshee 900R (131mph)
View this post on Instagram
Grand Theft Auto players will be familiar with this classic. The Banshee was first seen in GTA 3, and is one of the two longest-running sports cars in the GTA series, with the other being the Pegassi Infernus. The Banshee’s design has actually changed over the years, but its most recent design resembles the second-generation Dodge Viper quite a lot. It also has influences from the Marcos Mantis, Aston Martin DB9, and the Mazda RX-7.
The standard Banshee is fast, but not fast enough, and this is where the Banshee 900R comes in. The 900R is a wide-body conversion that you can do to your Banshee at Benny’s Original Motor Works. The conversion will cost you $565,000 on top of the $105,000 price tag of the hard-top Banshee, and $126,000 for the topless Banshee.
In its 900R form, the Banshee can reach 131mph, which is impressive considering the relatively cheap cost of the conversion when compared to other supercars. The Banshee 900R is not without its flaws though; the acceleration is not quite as swift as other supercars, and the 900R still suffers tail-happy handling thanks to the heavy rear-end. And pray to the GTA Gods that you won’t hit anything when the rear-end lets loose, cause the Banshee isn’t exactly durable either.
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #4: Principe Deveste Eight (132mph)
I’ll be honest, I’m not a big fan of the looks of the Devel Sixteen. But Rockstar’s version of the Devel Sixteen in GTA 5 is actually a looker. Named Principe Deveste Eight, this Devel Sixteen-inspired hypercar is the fourth fastest car in the game with a top speed of 132mph. Add excellent handling, traction, and durability, and it’s easily one of the best cars in the game for police evasion.
It’s not without caveats though. The Deveste Eight is still vulnerable to gunfire from behind as it can be destroyed by shooting its huge exhausts. Additionally, the long wheelbase can make it slightly difficult to maneuver in tight spaces. The Deveste Eight also suffers from somewhat lackluster acceleration.
Still, if you’re interested in the Deveste Eight, you can have it delivered from Legendary Motorsport for just $1,795,000.
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #3: Pfister 811 (133mph)
View this post on Instagram
While the Deveste Eight is better looking than its real-life counterpart, the Pfister 811 arguably looks worse than the real-life car that inspired it. But we’re here to talk about the fastest car in GTA 5, so we’ll gloss over the looks. Besides, looks are completely subjective.
Based on the Porsche 918, with influences from the Koenigsegg Regera and the Lotec C1000, the Pfister 811 is a quick car. It boasts a top speed of 133mph and phenomenally fast acceleration. In fact, it accelerates faster than any bikes and non-electric supercars in the game. All this means that the Pfister 811 is very competitive when it comes to straight-line races.
However, the Pfister 811 suffers from understeer even at low speeds. Try to correct that with too much power, and the car will oversteer. Its handling isn’t the best in the game, so it will only really be ideal for races with long straights.
That being said, the car is available from Legendary Motorsport for just $1,135,000, making it a good value if you want a supercar that has phenomenal straight-line performance.
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #2: Grotti Itali RSX (135mph)
The title of the second fastest GTA 5 car goes to the Grotti Itali RSX, a mid-engine supercar based on the Ferrari SF90. With a top speed of 135mph and decent acceleration, it can easily beat most other cars in GTA 5 in a drag race. Of course, this performance comes at a price. Specifically, a price tag of $3,465,000, or $2,598,750 after helping return Moodymann to The Music Locker as VIP/CEO or MC President.
The Itali RSX also comes at another price, namely braking and handling. The brakes aren’t too bad, but not quite good enough for a car this fast. Meanwhile, the traction of the Itali RSX is decent, but small bumps and road imperfections are enough to upset the handling. This makes the car prone to spinning out on rough roads. But if all you need is a car to race on the runway of Los Santos International, this car will absolutely monster the competition.
GTA 5 Fastest Car (Top Speed) #1: Ocelot Pariah (136mph)
View this post on Instagram
The Ocelot Pariah claims the title of the fastest car in GTA 5 with a top speed of 136mph. This is kind of odd since the Ocelot Pariah is in the sportscar class, and yet it can embarrass cars in the supercar class. Keep in mind that the enormous power means you’re going to have a lot of wheel spin at the start. That being said, the high top speed means the Ocelot Pariah is great for Sports class races. Additionally, the Ocelot Pariah has decent handling, although going over bumps may easily upset the car’s handling.
Although the Ocelot Pariah’s design is influenced by the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato, the Ferrari 812, and the Ferrari Portofino, it’s hardly the best-looking car in GTA 5. It’s definitely not as head-turning as the other cars on this list. However, it is relatively cheap. For just $1,420,000 you can have the fastest car in GTA 5 delivered to your garage from Legendary Motorsport.
If you’re not convinced yet, watch this review of the Ocelot Pariah. Keep in mind that this is a review of the fully modified version:
Fastest Car In GTA 5: Based On Lap Times
The list above was for the fastest cars in GTA 5 based on their top speed. When it comes to lap times, it’s obviously a bit more complicated. Some cars have better handling and will perform better around a track. But then there are tracks in GTA 5 with longer straights, meaning you will benefit from top speed more than handling.
We’re going to list down the fastest cars in GTA 5 based on testing by Youtuber Broughy1322, who is known for testing out the performance of vehicles in GTA 5. The list below is the top 10 fastest lap times of fully upgraded cars, tested on the Cutting Coroners GP track, and is accurate as per the Cayo Perico Heist update.
Also, keep in mind that some cars are excluded since they’re not eligible for racing events.
10. Grotti Itali GTO (0:59:727)
The Grotti Itali GTO makes a second appearance on this post. This time is the 10th fastest car in terms of lap time. According to Broughy1322, the Annis RE-7B has the same lap time as the Itali GTO. However, the Itali GTO has a higher top speed, giving it 10th place on this list.
9. Truffade Thrax (0:59:261)
View this post on Instagram
A car that is based on the Bugatti Divo is obviously going to be very quick. The Truffade Thrax is one of the best handling cars in the game, small wonder it can do a sub-one-minute lap time around the Cutting Coroners GP and is the ninth fastest car in GTA 5 in terms of lap time.
The handling means it’s great for weaving through traffic. But if you’re planning to use the Thrax as a getaway car, just be mindful of your surroundings as it’s not very durable. Also, the Thrax costs a hefty $2,325,000, making it a very expensive way to get away from the cops. But then again almost everything is expensive in GTA 5.
8. Annis S80RR (0:59:226)
Up next we have the Annis S80RR with a lap time of just 59.2 seconds around the Cutting Coroners circuit. It’s based on the Nissan R90C, a Group C racing car built by Nissan that competed in the World Sportscar Championship. With its low and wide body and massive spoiler, it’s no surprise that this is one of the best handling cars in the game. Players have noted how it’s easy to regain control of the car when it starts to power slide.
All this performance obviously doesn’t come cheap. You’ll need $2,575,000 of your GTA money to have this car delivered to your garage from Legendary Motorsport.
7. Dewbauchee Vagner (0:59:194)
View this post on Instagram
The Dewbauchee Vagner is based on the Aston Martin Valkyrie, and it is beautiful. But it’s not on this list because of the looks, it’s here because of how fast it is. The Vagner, much like other cars on this list, has amazing handling. It also has great acceleration, giving it the ability to exit a corner quicker than most other cars. This is great for tracks with low-speed corners.
However, like a lot of other GTA 5 cars that have low ground clearance, the Vagner is prone to spinning if the rear end goes over a significant bump, so you might want to be mindful. Still, it has the speed and the looks and costs a fairly reasonable $1,535,000 if you’re interested in owning one.
6. Benefactor Krieger (0:58:526)
While the Krieger doesn’t look quite as good as the Mercedes-AMG Project 1 (the real-life car that inspired it), it can at least be driven. The Mercedes-AMG Project 1 meanwhile is still in development. Anyway, the Krieger is the sixth fastest car in GTA 5 in terms of lap time at around 58.5 seconds. That’s around 0.6 seconds faster than the Dewbauchee Vagner.
It has great handling, traction, and acceleration, making it excellent at low-speed corners. However, it does suffer from slight understeer at high speeds, so be sure to slow down during corners. This performance comes at $2,875,000, which is a lot of money, but then again you are getting the sixth fastest car in the game.
5. Progen Emerus (0:58:291)
View this post on Instagram
The Progen Emerus takes the 5th spot on this list. It’s based on the McLaren Senna, with influences from the Aston Martin Vulcan and the McLaren P1 GTR. It has good top speed and acceleration. However, players have noted that the handling feels floaty over uneven roads and corners. But it does have good traction, making it very good at taking sharp turns.
Not only is it one of the fastest, but it is also (to my eye at least) one of the best-looking cars in the game. It costs a pretty penny though, at $2,750,000 it isn’t exactly cheap. Let me make a quick phone call to Lester and see if he has any jobs for me…
4. Ocelot R88 (0:56:791)
Quick note, the top four cars on this list are dominated by open-wheel vehicles. So if you’re not looking to buy an open-wheel vehicle in GTA 5, the Progen Emerus is the fastest car you can buy in GTA 5. With that being said, number four on this list is the Ocelot R88. An open-wheel car that’s inspired by 1980s open-wheel racers, but with heavy influence from the Lotus 97T.
The R88 obviously has amazing handling, how else can it achieve a lap time that fast? However, it does suffer from slight understeer at high speeds, so be wary when taking tight turns. The Ocelot R88 will set you back $3,115,000.
3. Declasse DR1 (0:56:790)
View this post on Instagram
If you’re more into IndyCars than retro F1 styling, then you’d be better off with the Declasse DR1. It does about the same lap time as the Ocelot R88, it may suffer from slightly slower acceleration but it does have KERS, and it’s cheaper as well. It’s the cheapest open-wheel car on the list. Mind you, cheapest doesn’t necessarily mean cheap. You’re still going to have to give Legendary Motorsport $2,997,000 of your money.
2. Progen PR4 (0:56.424)
The second fastest car around a track in GTA 5 is the Progen PR4, based on the championship-winning McLaren MP4/5. It’s a very well-rounded car; with great handling, acceleration, and braking. Like other open-wheel cars, the PR4 also suffers from understeer, but it’s still manageable.
Needless to say, it was very expensive. Legendary Motorsport will charge you $3,515,000 to own one of these. Robbing convenience stores will probably take too long if you’re saving up money to buy the PR4.
GTA 5 Fastest Car: Benefactor BR8 (0:54:788)
View this post on Instagram
Finally, the title of the fastest car in GTA 5 in terms of top speed goes to the Benefactor BR8. At 54.7 seconds, it’s about 1.7 seconds faster than the Progen PR4. It’s modeled after the Red Bull RB7, so it’s a more modern-looking open-wheel car.
It’s obviously very fast, and with a KERS system on board, it can accelerate even more quickly for about 4 seconds. Needless to say, the Benefactor BR8 is not cheap, at $3,400,000, you’re going to have to spend a significant amount of time completing heists and other jobs to buy this car from Legendary Motorsport. Still, it is the fastest car in the game, and it’s still cheaper than the Progen PR4.

GTA 5 Fastest Car: In Conclusion…
There you have it, those are some of the fastest cars in GTA 5 as of 2021. If you’re looking for pure top speed, the Ocelot Pariah is the one you should buy. Although I would personally prefer the Grotti Itali RSX since it’s nearly as fast and it looks way better than the Ocelot Pariah.
If you’re looking to get around a track quickly, then the Benefactor BR8 is for you. However, if you’re not looking to buy an open-wheel vehicle, then the Progen Emerus is the fastest non-open-wheel vehicle that you can buy in GTA 5.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re still curious to learn more about GTA 5 fastest car, our FAQs here might help…
What Is The Fastest Car In The World
As of 2022, there is an abundance of fast cars as automakers are partaking in a high-stakes horsepower war. At the time of writing, the absolute fastest car in the world if you’re measuring by top speed is the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut. Although, it should be noted that this is merely estimated and hasn’t yet been proven in the real world. When conducting simulations, Koenigsegg believes that it could easily beat 310mph. Albeit, they’ve yet to find suitable tires for it. On the other hand, the Hennessey Venom F5 has already proven in the real world that it could reach 310mph and beyond. Below that, there’s the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which was the first production-going car that managed to crack past 300mph.
What Is The Fastest Car In GTA 5
As GTA 5 continually gets updated with new content, it’s more than likely that the fastest car will keep changing hands as new vehicles are introduced into the game. At the moment though, the title of GTA 5 fastest car is held by either one of two vehicles, depending on how you measure it. If we’re measuring it by top speed, then the Ocelot Pariah is the fastest car in GTA 5. Despite being classed in the game as a sports car and not a supercar, it’s capable of reaching 136mph within the game, without any tuning or modifications. Meanwhile, if we’re gauging the fastest car in GTA 5 by lap times, the winner would be the Benefactor BR8. It’s basically a present-day, open-wheel Formula 1 car, so it has tonnes of aero tricks and a highly-tuned powertrain.
How To Buy Cars In GTA 5
Buying cars in GTA 5 is pretty easy. While you can steal cars, as is the case with every GTA game, there are ways that you can legally purchase and own a vehicle. The first thing you need to do is bring out the in-game mobile phone and head to the internet browser. Then, click on the Travel And Transportation section on the front page of the browser. From there, it’ll load up some websites that you can visit that sell vehicles. Each website specializes in different types of vehicles – military vehicles, normal cars, cars that could be easily tuned, as well as luxury and high-performance vehicles. Once you find the car you want, click on the price tag to buy those cars. Then, they will be delivered and shall appear in your garage.
What Is The Fastest Motorcycle In GTA 5
Besides GTA 5 fastest car, there are also plenty of speedy motorcycles that you can ride in the game, too. In some cases, the fastest bikes in GTA 5 surpass in top speed when compared to the fastest cars (non-modified). If we’re looking at this based on top speed, the Deathbike is the fastest motorbike in GTA 5, with a top speed of 150mph. Below that, there’s the BF400 with its top speed of 137mph and the Bati 801 and its top speed of 135mph. However, it’s a different story if we’re measuring it by lap times. In this case, the fastest motorcycle in GTA 5 is the Shotaro, with a rapid lap time of just 00:57.490. Other than that, there’s the Hakuchou Drag and its lap time of 00:57.590, which is followed by the Bati 801 again and its lap time of 00:58.625.
How To Use Turbo In GTA 5
One of the many modifications that you can make to your car in GTA 5 is by adding a turbo. Unlike some games where the turbo functions sort of like a nitrous oxide kit or how it provides a momentary boost upon pressing a button, GTA 5’s turbo works like an actual turbocharger. You can visit a Los Santos Customs shop to start modifying your car by adding a turbo to it. Each turbo kit will display how much it improves the acceleration of your car. When you’re in a race, you could even hear the whoosh and whistle of the turbo in the background as it’s providing a boost to the engine. Adding a turbo is otherwise a passive buff to your car. In other words, there’s no way for you to interact with it physically, but it will make your car accelerate faster.
