The Naran Hyper Coupe is an Exclusive Hypercar Inspired by GT3 Cars

Naran Hyper Coupe

Ever heard of Naran? No, me neither, but the British company is cooking up something you won’t be able to ignore. The Hyper Coupe, still in prototype form, is set to challenge the Koenigsegg Gemera (at least in terms of concept, if not performance) and appears to be one of the most interesting supercars to emerge this year. The hyper-GT segment is growing, but Naran’s debut showstopper offers a level of customisation that was previously unheard of.

Naran Hyper CoupeA Distinctive Design, Both Inside and Out

The Hyper Coupe will certainly turn heads when it makes its debut at this year’s Salon Privé. There’s no shortage of sharp lines and motorsport elements, so it should be no surprise that the designer, Jowyn Wong, was also responsible for cars like the Apollo IE. The clamshell front end can only be described as mean, with a low splitter and thin headlights, as well as a prominent air intake. The bold centre-locking wheels have little space below the low-slung arches and next to the noticeable side skirts. At the rear, there are sleek lights above an enormous diffuser, housing astoundingly large exhaust surrounds. Owners can choose between the aero pack, or a more laidback design if they don’t plan to take it on track.

Naran Hyper CoupeInside, it’s a different kettle of fish. There’s a focus on opulence and quality rather than outright performance, although more on that in a second. Materials such as ‘premium CNC-milled billet aluminium and tri-hue minimalistic soft-touch textiles and leather’ are used, whatever that means, but Naran promises there will be personalisation that no other brand offers. Customers have already requested horse hair, marble and granite effects, and gold leaf trim. The prototype features an abundance of ruby leather, with gold accents.

Naran Hyper CoupeA Driving Experience Like No Other

Possibly the most important part of a hypercar is the performance. The Naran Hyper Coupe doesn’t disappoint on this front, with a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces a whopping 1,048bhp and 1036Nm of torque. This gives it a 0-60 mph time of just 2.3 seconds, while it can reach 200 mph in just 16.5 seconds. It will be a wild ride no doubt, especially with all the power sent to the rear, as it can be switched from AWD to RWD.

It’s not just straight-line speed that the Hyper Coupe offers though, as there is an immense amount of downforce. When equipped with the aero pack, it generates up to 1,377kg of downforce. The GT3 claims aren’t just a gimmick after all.

Extreme Levels of Exclusivity

Just 39 examples will be made, although – unlike most limited hypercars – they aren’t all sold. Each one will be unique and owners will be able to give a name to their car, as every Hyper Coupe will be its own edition. Price-wise, it will start at £2 million – although with the levels of customisation on offer most will likely exceed that price. Naran is currently accepting £300,000 deposits to reserve one of the most opulent hypercars ever.
